Watch: NCT's Jaehyun, Park Hye Soo, Noh Jung Ui, And Bae Hyun Sung Introduce Their 'Dear.M' Characters

Park Hye Soo, NCT’s Jaehyun, Noh Jung Ui, and Bae Hyun Sung have invited viewers to their “Dear.M” universe with a new making-of film!

A spin-off of the hit web drama series “Love Playlist,” “Dear.M” is a romance drama that will tell the story of the campus-wide search for “M,” a mystery individual who is mentioned in an anonymous post on a Seoyeon University online community.

In the new clip, the cast take viewers behind-the-scenes, show off their chemistry at their first script reading, and introduce their characters.

Park Hye Soo stars as Ma Joo Ah, whom she describes as “bright and lovely.” She continues, “She’s someone who has the kind of energy that makes people around her feel happier.” Jaehyun plays Cha Min Ho, her best friend of 12 years. His character is a second-year computer science major whose dream is to become an app developer. Jaehyun adds, “He’s thick-skinned, incredibly down-to-earth, and a bit of a jokester. At the same time, when you look closely, he has a serious side and is a very charming character.”

Regarding her character Seo Ji Min, Noh Jung Ui shares, “Those who watched ‘Love Playlist’ will know, but she’s bright, very positive, and pretty, as Seoyeon University’s cheering team’s center. She’s a character lovable enough to make viewers think, ‘I want to date!'” Bae Hyun Sung plays Seo Ji Min’s love interest Park Ha Neul. He comments, “He’s someone who works hard in order to succeed in regard to both love and his dream. He looks very blunt and shy but when he’s with Ji Min, I think you’ll be able to see many new sides to him.”

Director Park Jin Woo comments, “As a youth romance drama, we thought giving viewers butterflies was fundamental. From there, we focused a lot on how to portray that nervousness in a realistic way. We’re working to create scenes that can be viewed extremely comfortably and naturally.”

Director Seo Joo Wan later adds, “There was our own perception of romance back in our day and I think an incredible strength of the ‘Dear.M’ script is that it realistically expresses how youth these days date, attend school, and live their daily lives.”

“Dear.M” is scheduled to premiere early 2021. Check out the full making-of clip here!
