IU Donates 100 Million Won To Help Low-Income Students In Time For Christmas
IU has celebrated Christmas by making a generous donation to a meaningful cause!
On December 24, the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation (also known as ChildFund Korea) revealed that IU had donated 100 million won (approximately $91,000) to help young students in need earlier that day.
“IU made a donation of 100 won this morning,” confirmed a spokesperson for the foundation. “Her donation will go towards the living expenses of low-income students who are being raised by their grandparents and their schooling expenses as they prepare to go to college.”
IU has often made generous donations and shown support for many charitable causes over the course of her career. Just in the past five months alone, IU has donated 100 million won to help victims of heavy rainfall and flooding, approximately 100 million worth of cooling vests for frontline health care workers, 50 million won (approximately $45,000) to help provide hearing aids to those in need, and 50 million won to support single mothers.
