Lee Kwang Soo In Talks To Take Leading Role In New Fantasy Action Drama

Lee Kwang Soo may be starring as the lead of a new drama!

On January 6, a source from the drama industry stated to Ilgan Sports, “Lee Kwang Soo will be starring as the lead of the drama ‘Hero’ (literal title).”

Following reports, a source from King Kong By Starship Entertainment clarified, “Lee Kwang Soo has received an offer to star in the drama ‘Hero,’ and he is positively reviewing the offer.”

“Hero” is a fantasy action melodrama that takes place in this generation in which it is difficult to distinguish who is a hero and who is evil. The story unfolds as a prosecutor, who gets fired for being too meddlesome, gains a special ability. Eventually, he reveals the true nature of someone who has been revered as a hero and fights against those forces.

Lee Kwang Soo has been offered the role of the leading character Oh Gyu Tae, a former prosecutor who is currently jobless. He has a lot of interest in other people’s business, and he is unable to hold back when he sees injustice because he was born with a chivalrous personality. Oh Gyu Tae also has extraordinary athletic abilities because he learned boxing as a hobby since a young age.

If he accepts the offer, “Hero” will be Lee Kwang Soo’s first title role in a drama. Viewers are already highly anticipating his acting transformation.

“Hero” will be written by scriptwriter Park Hee Kang, who wrote “Possessed,” and helmed by director Choi Do Hoon. Previously, Woo Do Hwan was in talks to star in the drama as Oh Gyu Tae. The channel and broadcast schedule for “Hero” is currently undecided.
