Shin Ha Kyun And Yeo Jin Goo Transform Into Police Officers With Secrets In Their Past In "Beyond Evil"
JTBC’s upcoming drama “Beyond Evil” has released the first stills of Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo in character.
“Beyond Evil” is a psychological thriller that stars Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo as two men who are willing to break the rules and the law in pursuit of a serial killer. The drama asks the question, “Who is the monster? Is it you? Is it me? Is it us?”
Shin Ha Kyun plays Lee Dong Shik, a former detective in the violent crimes division who has been demoted to sergeant at a local police station. He is in charge of doing odd jobs at the station, but his life is turned upside down when he reencounters an old serial killer case that shook up his world 20 years ago.
Shin Ha Kyun said, “Lee Dong Shik is a character who couldn’t help but go out of his mind due to his overflowing sorrow. However, he goes about solving cases according to his own method. He can appear to be sentimental, but he’s more rational than anyone else, and he can appear cold, but he has a warm heart. I’m trying my best to portray the contrast between his external and internal selves. I was deeply impressed by the script, which digs deep into human psychology. It’s an exciting project where I’m always interested to see what happens next episode.”
Yeo Jin Goo plays Han Joo Won, a police detective who seems to have it all, from pure talent to good looks to a powerful father who is in line to be the next chief of the National Police Agency. He comes down to the local police station in Manyang and partners up with Lee Dong Shik, but he is hiding a secret that no one knows.
Yeo Jin Goo said, “I was intrigued at how the characters are intertwined in various relationships. It’s a drama in which you’re curious about what comes next with every partial reveal of the truth. I was also attracted to how the characters engage in psychological warfare without revealing their true selves. Han Joo Won seems like a rational and cold person on the outside, but in reality, he’s moved by his emotions. He keeps a tight check on his emotions because he believes himself to be rational. It’s a character who is different from the roles I’ve played before. I think I’ll be able to show a new side of myself.”
“Beyond Evil” premieres on February 19. Check out a teaser here!
