Here are five of the most unforgettable moments from “True Beauty” in which Cha Eun Woo stole viewers’ hearts as Lee Su Ho:
1. Saving the day at school
In contrast to the icy demeanor he displayed throughout the first two episodes, Lee Su Ho shocked viewers—as well as Lim Ju Gyeong—by suddenly coming to her rescue at the end of Episode 2. When Lim Ju Gyeong got icing on her face and was at risk of having her bare face exposed at school, Lee Su Ho unexpectedly made a dashing arrival on the scene and escorted her to an empty bathroom while covering her with his jacket. The gallant and thoughtful gesture revealed that the seemingly aloof character had a hidden caring side.
2. Telling Lim Ju Gyeong she’s pretty even without makeup
In Episode 5, Lee Su Ho shyly attempted to express his feelings for Lim Ju Gyeong in his own inept but adorable way. While feigning nonchalance, he bought Lim Ju Gyeong the strawberry juice she liked, and after hugging her, he tried to play it off by using the scent of his fabric softener as a hard-to-believe excuse. The moment that really made viewers’ hearts skip a beat, though, was when he boosted Lim Ju Gyeong’s self-confidence by telling her, “You’re pretty even when you don’t wear makeup.”
3. His confession, followed by a romantic first kiss
At the end of Episode 8, Lim Ju Gyeong became distraught after mistakenly believing that Lee Su Ho liked Kang Su Jin (played by Park Yoo Na). However, after tracking her down outside, Lee Su Ho finally cleared up the misunderstanding and boldly confessed his feelings by declaring, “The person I like is you.” The couple then thrilled viewers by sharing their first kiss under the moonlight.
4. Firmly turning Kang Su Jin down by declaring, “Lim Ju Gyeong is my girlfriend”
In Episode 12, Lee Su Ho made it clear to Kang Su Jin that he was off-limits. When she approached him in an attempt to confess her feelings, Lee Su Ho quickly cut her off and told her that he was dating Lim Ju Gyeong. He was even firmer in his rejection later on in the episode, when Kang Su Jin asked him to break up with Lim Ju Gyeong and date her instead. The cold, unyielding way in which he responded to her advances revealed just how committed he was to his relationship with Lim Ju Gyeong.
5. His unforgettable aegyo
After everyone at school found out about Lim Ju Gyeong’s past, Lee Su Ho attempted to cheer her up by using the same cute aegyo that she had used to comfort him back when they were kids at the comic book store. He also brought a smile to her face with the awkward but adorable video of himself singing the “Ottoke (What Should I Do) Song,” which he filmed in the hopes of making her feel better. Not only did he succeed in his mission, but the adorkable video had viewers smiling along as well.
