FNC Entertainment Establishes New Labels For Trot Music And Girl Groups
FNC Entertainment has announced the creation of two new labels in order to better specialize in music production.
FNC B, which is scheduled to launch in early February, is a new label that will specialize in trot music. FNC B is being established in joint partnership between FNC Entertainment and HOW Entertainment, with each company owning 50 percent of the new label. HOW Entertainment is a subsidiary of NHN Bugs, a business that specializes in music streaming.
Through FNC and Bugs’ partnership, FNC B will have an all-in-one system that can do album production, distribution, and artist management. FNC B intends to recruit artists who are currently active as well as developing new artists.
FNC W, the first new label that FNC Entertainment established, was launched on February 1. It is an independent label that specializes in girl groups. FNC invested 12 billion won (about $10.76 million) as initial capital in FNC W. Han Seung Hoon, a producer who has been the co-CEO of FNC since March 2018, will be the CEO of FNC W as well.
FNC W will manage the girl group Cherry Bullet, who had a comeback with “Love So Sweet” last month, as well as debut preparations for a new girl group.
Through these new special labels, FNC is aiming to become more flexible and differentiate itself in a rapidly changing music market through focused and specialized artist management and promotion. In addition, the agency plans to cultivate artists with differentiated musical skills and talent and give them stable support through expert and focused management.
