Watch: Shin Hye Sun, Kim Jung Hyun, And More Work Hard To Perfect Their Passionate And Action-Packed "Mr. Queen" Scenes
The latest making-of clip of “Mr. Queen” takes viewers behind the scenes of the action-packed episodes 17 and 18!
The historical fusion drama is about a man from modern times whose soul is trapped in the body of a queen from the Joseon dynasty. Shin Hye Sun stars as Kim So Yong, the Joseon queen with the soul of Blue House chef Jang Bong Hwan trapped inside her. Kim Jung Hyun plays her husband King Cheoljong, who is a weak and ineffective king on the outside but is stronger and sharper than he appears.
In the first scene, Shin Hye Sun and Cha Chung Hwa are rehearsing Cha Chung Hwa’s drunk acting. Later, the director suggests she put some rice wine on her face and Cha Chung Hwa delicately places some on her nose. Shin Hye Sun jokingly scolds her, pointing a finger and saying, “You just intended to look cute.” After, Shin Hye Sun jokes, “Should we put some on your eyebrow?”
During rehearsals for Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun’s tango scene, Shin Hye Sun dramatically grabs Kim Jung Hyun’s sleeve as she asks, “What is this? What’s in here?” He shyly answers, “Hot pack.”
As Shin Hye Sun throws her leg around Kim Jung Hyun’s body, he comments with a laugh, “It kind of feels like she’s trying to push me over.” Later, Kim Jung Hyun explains one of his improvisations and the director tells him to do it, showing his confidence in the actor. As the scene moves forward, the two actors engage in their passionate acting.
The next scene features Kim Jung Hyun on his horse, whom he excitedly praises. He rehearses a scene with the director and hilariously comments, “It’s my line,” without changing his facial expression, when the director incorrectly speaks.
After, Kim Jung Hyun practices an action scene with Na In Woo, adorably taking some time to “buffer” when he forgets his next move.
