Watch: Mnet's "High School Rapper 4" Drops Exciting Preview Of New Mentors And Contestants
The upcoming fourth season of “High School Rapper” has dropped teasers previewing an exciting lineup of contestants and mentors!
“High School Rapper” is a rap competition show between high school students. The first three seasons aired from 2017 to 2019, with Young B, HAON, and Lee Young Ji emerging as winners. “High School Rapper 4” will feature contestants born between 2002 and 2005. It was previously confirmed that Simon Dominic, Loco, Changmo, Way Ched, The Quiett, Yumdda, Jay Park, pH-1, and Woogie would be appearing on the new season as mentors.
The first teaser reveals that over 12,000 contestants applied for the fourth season, a new record for the show. It also introduces the mentor lineup, with the mentor teams being divided into The Quiett and Yumdda, Simon Dominic and Loco, Changmo and Way Ched, and Jay Park, Woogie, and pH-1. The mentors get just as excited as the contestants at the sight of the talented applicants, jumping up and cheering and wanting to cast them into their own labels.
The second teaser analyzes the different approaches of the mentor teams. Yumdda and The Quiett are new at mentoring and are less confident in their abilities, but show their warmhearted care for the contestants, asking if they’ve eaten and encouraging them. Simon Dominic and Loco introduce themselves as looking to entertain rather than seeking chart success, with Simon Dominic imitating the other mentors and making them laugh.
Changmo and Way Ched are bursting with confidence, with Changmo saying “I’m a star” and Way Ched agreeing, “His song ‘Meteor’ is really popular among high school students.” Way Ched adds, “The two of us are a team of geniuses.” Woogie, pH-1, and Jay Park are full of passion and energy, with Jay Park in particular showing great reactions to performances and even throwing his own gloves and shoes on stage.
The third teaser shows a preview of the contestants themselves, including those that get hyped up by others’ performances, those that boast eye-catching visuals as well as talent, and those that are full of energy no matter the task. One of the high school rappers noted for his good looks is Bang Jun Hyuk, also known as MCND’s Win. Born in 2004, he is currently 18 years old (Korean age) and a student at Hanlim Arts High School studying Practical Music.
Other high school rappers that will appear on the show include Tendo (Kang Hyun), Veiniyfl (Jun Hyun Joon), Choi Eun Seo, Jaeha (Kim Jae Ha), Trade L (Lee Seung Hoon), Young Chens (Kang Seo Bin), Pluma (Song Min Jae), Lee Ye Chan, M1nu (Kim Min Woo), Kim Gyu Ha, YLN Foreign, Lil Bemo (Kim Da Hyun), and more.
