"The Penthouse 2" Ratings Soar Past 20 Percent For 2nd Episode; "Vincenzo" Achieves 3rd-Highest Premiere Of Any Weekend Drama In tvN History
The battle for weekend drama ratings is heating up!
On February 20, after premiering to a strong start the night before, SBS’s “The Penthouse 2” managed to break past the 20 percent mark with its viewership ratings for its second episode. According to Nielsen Korea, the latest broadcast of the hit drama scored average nationwide ratings of 15.1 percent and 20.4 percent for its two parts.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki’s new tvN drama “Vincenzo” made its own impressive start. The first episode of the drama scored an average nationwide rating of 7.7 percent and a peak of 9.5 percent, achieving the third-highest premiere ratings of any weekend drama in tvN history.
At present, “Vincenzo” has been bested only by “Mr. Sunshine,” which premiered to an average nationwide rating of 8.9 percent, and “Mr. Queen,” which kicked off with an average rating of 8.0 percent.
OCN’s new time-warp mystery drama “Times” premiered to an average nationwide rating of 1.6 percent, while JTBC’s new psychological thriller “Beyond Evil” scored an average rating of 3.9 percent for its second episode. TV Chosun’s “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)” saw a decline in viewership from last week, scoring an average rating of 7.7 percent for the night.
Finally, KBS 2TV’s “Homemade Love Story” stayed strong with average nationwide ratings of 26.0 percent and 31.0 percent for its two parts.
