Hit Taiwanese Drama "Some Day Or One Day" Confirmed For Korean Remake

“Some Day or One Day” will be getting a Korean remake!

The Taiwanese drama revolves around a 27-year-old woman named Huang Yu Xuan (Alice Ke) who longs for Wang Quan Sheng (Greg Han), the love of her life. She constantly checks his social media pages in desperate hopes that he will call her. But one fateful night, Huang Yu Xuan is hit by a car. She regains consciousness and sees a man she believes to be Wang Quan Sheng sitting by her hospital bedside. However, she learns that she is no longer a 27-year-old woman, but is now a high school student named Chen Yan Ru in the year 1998. The man by her bedside is not her boyfriend after all, but a schoolmate named Li Zi Wei.

The hit drama recorded 4.16 percent in viewership ratings among women between the ages of 25 and 49 and ranked first for dramas of the same time slot for 12 weeks. In addition, it achieved more than 1 billion views worldwide through various OTT platforms. In Korea, it was broadcasted through the cable channel WeLike in April of last year, and when the drama aired on the Korean OTT platform Wavve, it topped the Asian charts. The drama gained huge popularity in Hong Kong, Japan, and Malaysia as well.

“Some Day or One Day” was nominated for six awards at the 55th Golden Bell Awards (Taiwan’s Emmys) and took four major prizes, including the award for Best Television Series. At the 25th Asian Television Awards, the drama took three awards for Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Theme Song.

npioe Entertainment and Lian Contents announced that they have completed the remake rights contract for “Some Day or One Day” that was produced by Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific and Three Phoenixes Production Co. and will start producing the Korean version in earnest.

Domestic fans are very interested in “Some Day or One Day,” which gained explosive popularity, and it is rumored that Korea’s leading broadcasters and drama producers competed fiercely for the copyright contract to secure the rights to remake it.

Expectations are high for the collaboration of production company npioe Entertainment and global content creator Lian Contents. Details such as the casting, title, and filming schedule have yet to be announced.
