“Love Alarm 2” Previews Heightened Tension Between Song Kang, Kim So Hyun, Jung Ga Ram, And More
An unpredictable touch of fate is upon the characters in the second season of “Love Alarm”!
Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, “Love Alarm” is a romance drama set in an alternate reality where people find love through an application that alerts users when someone within a 10-meter radius has feelings for them. The first season told the story of Kim Jo Jo (Kim So Hyun), Hwang Sun Oh (Song Kang), and Lee Hye Young (Jung Ga Ram) as they faced a world in which people can only express their love through the app.
The second season begins four years later when the app has expanded its sphere of influence with a new feature that provides a list of “people who you will like” and “people who will like you.” It becomes more and more apparent how powerful the app has gotten over four years. Everything has changed, from the way people fall in love to the division in social class based on how many likes you have. A new genre of crime has emerged based on these changes in society as well.
At this point, the three characters find themselves in the middle of a new conflict after having graduated high school and become adults. Kim Jo Jo is still unable to express her feelings due to a feature that blocks others’ alarms from ringing, Lee Hye Young is sticking through everything to stay by her side, and Hwang Sun Oh still lingers around her.
Director Kim Jin Woo commented, “The characters have become more mature in the second season. We deal with social problems caused by the emergence of the Love Alarm app. We tried to show how the characters were affected.”
The newly released stills also give an idea of how the supporting cast adds finishing touches to the series. Go Min Si plays Park Gul Mi, who sports unrivaled bright energy that gives the drama a lively touch. Park Gul Mi will go through great character development in her quest to enter the Love Alarm app’s Badge Club.
Lee Yook Jo, a member of the Badge Club and Hwang Sun Oh’s girlfriend, will be played by Kim Si Eun. She can be seen smiling widely at her boyfriend, who she knows has feelings for Kim Jo Jo.
Ki Do Hoon will appear as Brian Cheon, a developer behind Love Alarm who adds a level of tension with his mysterious persona.
“Love Alarm 2″ will premiere on March 12 via Netflix.
