As part of Taxpayers’ Day on March 5, the National Tax Service carried out its annual tradition of awarding citizens for being exemplary taxpayers.

Park Min Young and Jo Jung Suk received presidential commendations after they diligently paid a large amount of national taxes and took part in community service work. They have also been appointed as honorary ambassadors for the National Tax Service for over a year.

Taemin received a commendation from the Gangnam Tax Office while Jo Se Ho received one from the Mapo Tax Office.

On why Taemin was chosen as an exemplary taxpayer, a government representative stated, “Taemin has gained popularity around the world for his outstanding singing ability and performances, which has contributed to the development of popular culture. He has also regularly carried out social activities such as participating in donation campaigns. He therefore has a positive influence.” They said, “He is also diligently fulfilling his tax obligations.” Comedian Jo Se Ho also received a commendation after diligently paying his taxes and often taking part in acts of sharing.

People who are named exemplary taxpayers have access to benefits including the extension of payment deadlines, postponement of tax investigations during a grace period, the use of an exclusive business center at the Incheon International Airport, discounts on rail fare, and more.
