Watch: BTS Lights Up The Stage For Grammy Week Online Charity Concert
BTS lit it up like “Dynamite” at the Music On A Mission online benefit concert!
On March 12 local time, BTS took the virtual stage for Music On A Mission, a special Grammy Week charity concert held by MusiCares (the philanthropic arm of the Recording Academy, which organizes the annual Grammy Awards). Other performers for the event included John Legend, H.E.R., HAIM, and Jhené Aiko.
BTS, who is currently nominated for a 2021 Grammy Award in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, chose to perform the song that earned them their very first Grammy nomination: their smash hit “Dynamite.”
Notably, in addition to singing, Jungkook also played the drums during the group’s performance—which led to the phrase “DRUMMER JUNGKOOK” trending worldwide on Twitter shortly after BTS took the stage.
Earlier this week, the Recording Academy announced that BTS will also be performing at the 2021 Grammy Awards, which will mark their very first time taking the stage alone to perform one of their own songs at the annual award ceremony.
The 2021 Grammy Awards will air live on March 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
In the meantime, check out BTS’s Music On A Mission performance of “Dynamite” below!
