SM Entertainment Donates Proceeds From EXO And Yoo Jae Suk's Collab Track "Dancing King" To Meaningful Cause
SM Entertainment is donating the proceeds from the 2016 SM Station collaboration track “Dancing King” by EXO and Yoo Jae Suk of “Infinite Challenge”!
On March 17, the agency donated 32 million won (approximately $28,500) from the “Dancing King” proceeds to The Beautiful Foundation to help young adults leaving institutional care become self-supporting.
Since 2017, SM Entertainment has been utilizing the song’s net proceeds of 247 million won (approximately $219,900) to run support projects for providing music education for children and adolescents and aiding adolescents on the streets.
This year, in addition to the donation, SM Entertainment plans to work with The Beautiful Foundation for an “18-Year-Old Adult” campaign, in which they will produce fashionable bags with messages to raise awareness about adolescents who are discharged from institutional care. Moreover, artists under SM Entertainment will be donating their talents to support the campaign.
SM Entertainment CEO Tak Young Joon stated at the donation ceremony, “All young adults, including those who are leaving institutional care, are the stars who shine a light on our society’s future. We will work hard to improve awareness about these young adults and to make sure that more people continue to take interest in realistic ways to help them stand on their own feet.”
