Big Hit Entertainment Unveils New HYBE Headquarters
Big Hit Entertainment will be starting a new path with HYBE!
Previously, Big Hit Entertainment held a New Brand Presentation via the Big Hit Labels YouTube channel. Through the presentation, the company announced their new name HYBE, which symbolizes “connection, expansion, and relationships.”
On March 22, Big Hit Entertainment will be moving into HYBE’s brand new headquarters that is located in Yongsan, Seoul. It is a 19-story building with seven additional floors underground, and it covers about 60,000 square meters of space and houses over 1,000 employees and executives. The interior of the building consists of an entertainment production section, office section, and employees’ welfare section. In addition, there will be a museum in the basement that will be open to the public.
With a “Hyper Nomad” concept, the new headquarters will not only accommodate the employees’ different needs but also allow them to easily come together and disperse on a project-by-project basis. Rather than excessive decoration, the building is focused on functionality.
Accordingly, the building will become a space where people “come together,” not “placed together.” It pursues a “mobile office” in the form of various spaces and an autonomous seating system. It is possible to change the size of the work space with a “mobile rack” that moves easily, and employees will be able to freely modify the work/meeting space depending on the number of participants and the type of projects.
The second to sixth floors house the entertainment production facilities, which include film, dance, and production studios for each label. The seventh floor is a special area for storing different supplies in order to maintain a pleasant work environment. The eighth to sixteenth floors house the office space where interior staircases have been installed in every three floors. This was done to make it easier for employees to travel to and from each floor as well as create an environment where they can communicate more freely. Six floors have libraries/lounges, and three floors have fitness centers.
At the top floor, there is an auditorium, cafe, and garden that were created to improve thinking and communication. The cafe has especially collaborated with the coffee brand Fritz to bring a unique cafe experience. There are about 200 birch trees in the garden that is called “Comb,” which means that the employees can comb through their mind and thoughts.
CBO (Chief Brand Officer) Min Hee Jin commented, “Space creates attitude, and attitude creates values and cultures. We have created a space for each employee of diversity so that they can gain inspiration and and feel comfortable, and we believe that a culture of working freely in this space will soon create new values for the company.”
