Highlight's Yoon Doojoon In Talks To Star In New Drama
Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon may be returning to the small screen!
On April 2, industry representatives reported that Yoon Doojoon has been confirmed to appear in a new drama titled “There’s No Goo Pil Soo” (literal title). In response to the news, his agency Around US Entertainment shared, “Yoon Doojoon has been offered to star in ‘There’s No Goo Pil Soo’ and is positively reviewing it.”
“There’s No Goo Pil Soo” depicts the bromance of Goo Pil Soo, a breadwinner in his 40s who dreams for his second heyday, and Jung Seok, a genius in his 20s who dreams of his own start-up company. The drama will realistically portray relatable stories, including the recent social and education problems and the employment and start-up wars. At the same time, it will draw a harmony between different generations and create a warm comedy drama that everyone can sympathize with and watch comfortably.
The drama will be penned by Son Geun Joo and Lee Hye Ri who wrote “Backstreet Rookie,” and Cabin74 will be in charge of productions. Filming is set to start in July of this year, but the broadcast date is still up in the air.
Yoon Doojoon was offered the role of Jung Seok, a typical genius who was raised in the countryside without any private education and entered the top university in Seoul. Jung Seok thinks studying is the easiest thing in the world, and he believes that the only way he can succeed is by starting his own business. For the happiness of his mother and the woman he loves, he dreams of becoming Korea’s Mark Zuckerberg.
Yoon Doojoon has appeared in various dramas, including tvN’s “Let’s Eat” series, MBC’s “Splash Splash Love,” and KBS’s “Radio Romance.”
