TREASURE Tops Oricon's Weekly Album Chart With Japanese Debut Album
TREASURE’s first Japanese album has debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s weekly album chart!
On April 6, YG Entertainment officially announced that TREASURE’s Japanese debut album “THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT” had topped Oricon’s album chart for the week of March 29 to April 4.
The TREASURE members humbly remarked, “All of us were shocked [to hear that we were No. 1 on Oricon’s weekly albums chart]. Results aside, we’re grateful for and touched by the love and support of our many fans.”
They went on to add, “We wanted to give comfort and strength to people who were going through hard times with this album, which centers on the theme of ‘hope and love,’ and we are overwhelmed with emotion at the fact that we were able to convey those feelings, even if only to a small degree.”
Before entering the weekly album chart at No. 1, “THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT” previously topped Oricon’s daily album chart for four consecutive days after its release on March 31. Additionally, the album has remained No. 1 on Line Music’s Top 100 chart for the past seven days.
“THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT” includes the Japanese versions of the 12 songs that TREASURE has released in Korean, as well as the original Japanese track “BEAUTIFUL” (TREASURE’s new theme song for the Japanese animated series “Black Clover”).
Congratulations to TREASURE on their successful Japanese debut!
