"River Where The Moon Rises" And "Navillera" See Drops In Ratings Amid Competition From Variety Shows
The dramas that air on Monday and Tuesday evening have seen dips in ratings this week.
According to Nielsen Korea, the April 6 episode of KBS’s “River Where the Moon Rises” recorded average nationwide ratings of 6.0 and 7.8 percent. This is similar to its ratings on April 5 (6.7 and 7.8 percent), which was a new personal low for the drama. The drama premiered to ratings of 9.4 percent and had stayed in the 8-9 percent range until this week.
tvN’s “Navillera,” which set a personal best in ratings last week with 3.623 percent, dropped to ratings of 2.764 on April 5. The ratings for the April 6 episode dipped even further to 2.759 percent.
One media outlet speculated that this might be due to competition from popular variety shows that air on Monday night, such as KBS’s “Gayo Stage,” SBS’s “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny,” MBC’s “Buddy into the Wild,” and JTBC’s new show “Nice Alone.”
