BTS Becomes 1st Male Artist In Oricon History To Surpass 10 Million Streams In 1 Week With 2 Songs

BTS has just made Oricon history in Japan!

On April 14, Japanese music chart Oricon announced that BTS had topped its latest weekly streaming chart with their new Japanese single “Film Out,” which was co-composed by Jungkook. According to Oricon’s calculations, “Film Out” racked up an impressive 11,671,865 million streams during the week of April 5 to 11.

Oricon also officially announced, “This is the first time in [Oricon] history that a male artist has  achieved over 10 million streams in a single week with two different songs.”

Before “Film Out,” BTS first surpassed 10 million streams in a single week in Japan with their hit single “Dynamite,” which was released last August.

Last week, “Film Out” became BTS’s first Japanese song ever to top Oricon’s weekly digital singles chart. This week, the track went on to make history as BTS’s first Japanese song to debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 in the United States—and the first Japanese song ever to top Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.

“Film Out” will be included in BTS’s upcoming Japanese compilation album “BTS, The Best,” which is due out on June 16.
