GOT7's Jinyoung In Talks To Join Kim Go Eun In Upcoming Drama Based On Webtoon
GOT7’s Jinyoung may be acting alongside Kim Go Eun!
“Yumi’s Cells” is a drama based on a hit webtoon about an ordinary office worker named Yumi, told from the perspective of the brain cells in her head controlling her thoughts, feelings, and actions. Kim Go Eun is confirmed for the role of Yumi, and Ahn Bo Hyun is in talks to play her romantic interest Goo Woong. SHINee’s Minho will be making a special appearance in the drama.
On April 20, Sports Chosun reported that Jinyoung had been cast in the role of Yoo Babi, Yumi’s second boyfriend. According to the report, Jinyoung will act alongside Kim Go Eun in the second season of the drama.
In response to the report, BH Entertainment commented to Newsen, “He is reviewing [the offer for] the drama.”
“Yumi’s Cells” will be helmed by Lee Sang Yeob, the director of “Familiar Wife” and “Shopping King Louie,” and co-written by “Memories of the Alhambra” writer Song Jae Jung, “Find Me in Your Memory” writer Kim Yoon Joo, and newcomer Kim Kyung Ran.
Jinyoung made his acting debut with “Dream High 2” in 2012 and has built his career through roles in “When a Man Falls in Love,” “My Love Eun Dong,” “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” “He Is Psychometric,” and “When My Love Blooms.” He recently wrapped up shooting the film “The Angel Without, The Devil Within” (tentative title) and is filming tvN’s “Devil Judge” with Ji Sung.
