Watch: Girl's Day's Hyeri And Jang Ki Yong Make Ill-Suited Roommates In Fun Teasers For Upcoming Drama
tvN has shared a fun sneak peek of its upcoming drama “My Roommate Is a Gumiho”!
Based on a popular webtoon, “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” tells the story of a 22-year-old college student named Lee Dam (played by Girl’s Day’s Hyeri), who accidentally swallows the marble of a 999-year-old male gumiho (a mythological nine-tailed fox) named Shin Woo Yeo (played by Jang Ki Yong), who was close to achieving his goal of becoming human.
In the world of the drama, if a human swallows a gumiho’s marble, they can only live for one year, after which the marble will break—preventing the gumiho from ever becoming human. As they attempt to figure out a way to extract the marble from Lee Dam’s body before the year is up, Shin Woo Yeo suggests that the two move in together.
In two newly released teasers for the upcoming drama, Lee Dam and Shin Woo Yeo are caught off guard by each other’s unexpected personality traits as they start living together. The first teaser shows Lee Dam from Shin Woo Yeo’s point of view, looking innocent and contemplative as he comments in voice-over, “I can tell what she’s like. Her pure and innocent heart.”
However, Lee Dam turns out to be tougher than he expected. After skeptically jotting down in her notes, “Gumiho? Maybe a con artist?!” she approaches him with a contract and declares, “Gumiho or not, I don’t plan on being taken advantage of. So let’s write up a contract.”
Meanwhile, the second teaser shows Lee Dam struggling to adapt to Shin Woo Yeo as a roommate. The clip begins with her remarking, “His looks are flawless, but he…” She then trails off, seemingly saying the Korean word for “blood”—before she finishes her sentence by saying, “…he’s tiring.”
The teaser includes amusing glimpses of Shin Woo Yeo following Lee Dam around and politely nagging, “I believe I told you that curfew was 10 o’clock,” then boring her with stories of centuries past as he says, “Back in my day…”
“My Roommate Is a Gumiho” will premiere on May 26 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
