I.O.I Celebrates Their 5th Debut Anniversary In Live Broadcast Reunion
To celebrate their fifth debut anniversary, the I.O.I members reunited for a highly anticipated live broadcast!
On May 4 at 7 p.m. KST, I.O.I held a live broadcast titled “I.5.I – Yes, I Love It!” to chat with their fans. Members Lim Nayoung, Yoo Yeonjung, Jung Chaeyeon, Somi, Kim Sejeong, Chungha, Choi Yoojung, Kim Sohye, and Kim Doyeon all individually greeted viewers. Due to conflicting schedules, Kyulkyung and Kang Mina were not present.
The girls shared updates on their activities, with leader Lim Nayoung promoting her upcoming drama “Imitation.” Somi revealed that she was preparing for an upcoming album and Kim Sejeong talked about her new musical. The rest of the members shared that they were enjoying their rest.
In one corner of the broadcast, the group watched old videos from the course of their career, starting with their debut showcase to their final concert. Kim Sejeong commented, “Even though we discuss these memories all the time in our group chat, it’s interesting that we still miss it.” Choi Yoojung chimed in, “Although it was short, we did so much together that we never run out of things to talk about.”
The next segment featured a game where the girls were put to the test to see if they remembered their old choreography, dancing and having fun to songs like “Dream Girls” and “Very Very Very.” After, they went through some of their photos together, proving the group’s long-standing friendship.
I.O.I then responded to fan questions. When asked what they want to do first when they all meet up again, Chungha answered, “I want to promote together. I also want to go on variety shows.” The next question was “What would you do if you got the chance to turn back time?” Kim Sejeong shared that she’d like to sing “Whatta Man (Good Man)” as a whole group, which was originally only performed as a unit. Kim Doyeon added that she’d like to take in more from their final concert.
Lastly, the group emotionally expressed their gratitude to one another and their fans, sharing their hopes for I.O.I to stay like this in the future too. Later, the girls grew even more emotional when they received a surprise video call from Kyulkyung.
Following the live broadcast, many of the members took to their individual social media accounts to share photos and comments.
Lim Nayoung posted a group photo and captioned it, “Thank you to everyone who has congratulated us on our fifth debut anniversary. Thanks to the fans who have waited for us, today’s miracle was possible. I love you.”
