EXO's Xiumin Cast In Upcoming Korean Version Of Musical 'Hadestown'

EXO’s Xiumin has been announced as part of the cast for the upcoming Korean version of the musical “Hadestown”!

“Hadestown” is an adaptation of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and premiered on Broadway in March 2019. It won several awards at the 73rd Tony Awards as well as the Best Musical Theater Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards.

In the Korean version, EXO’s Xiumin, Park Kang Hyun, and Jo Hyung Gyun have been cast as Orpheus, the son of a human and one of the Muses, who is gifted with great musical power.

Choi Jae Rim and Kang Hong Suk have been cast as Hermes, who starts and ends the musical and introduces the audience to the mythological world. Kim Sun Young and Park Hye Na have been cast as Persephone, who is described as playful, gracious, and sharp. Kim Hwan Hee and Kim Soo Ha have been cast as the independent and strong-willed Eurydice. Ji Hyun Joon, Yang Joon Mo, and Kim Woo Hyung have been cast as Hades, the king of the Underworld.

“Hadestown” will begin performances at the LG Art Center in Gangnam, Seoul, in August. This will be the first time that the musical has been performed in Korea.
