Spoilers
Lee Do Hyun is perfectly portraying both the bright and deep sides of Hwang Hee Tae, and viewers are eager to find out more about his forbidden romance with Kim Myung Hee. Below are three ways Lee Do Hyun is making hearts flutter in the drama!
Handsome looks
In the fifth episode of “Youth of May,” Kim Myung Hee asked Hwang Hee Tae to get engaged to Lee Soo Ryun (Geum Sae Rok). Despite the fact that both parties didn’t want this, Hwang Hee Tae and Lee Soo Ryun started to prepare for their engagement. The end of the episode showed Hwang Hee Tae wearing a neat tuxedo with his hair gelled back. Lee Do Hyun managed to flawlessly pull off both casual and formal looks from the 80s, and viewers are excited to see more of how the retro outfits will heighten his good looks.
Emotional performance
Lee Do Hyun touched viewers’ hearts with his emotional acting in this week’s broadcast. Hwang Hee Tae grew jealous after learning that Kim Myung Hee went to Seoul with Lee Soo Chan (Lee Sang Yi). Hwang Hee Tae told her, “I’m going crazy because I don’t want to let a day pass by like this. I thought you were just holding it in. But I guess you’re okay. I’m done writing letters to someone who won’t write back.”
In this scene, Lee Do Hyun perfectly assimilated into his character’s situation and increased the immersion of the play with his teary eyes, trembling voice, and shallow breathing.
Straightforward, romantic nature
Last week, Hwang Hee Tae straightforwardly asked Kim Myung Hee, “Do you want to date me for just one month in May?” Then in episode six, he made hearts flutter again when he directly begged her in a cute way, “Let’s go on a date for two days.” The two characters finally confirmed each other’s feelings, and Lee Do Hyun depicted Hwang Hee Tae’s love for Kim Myung Hee with his warm and sweet eyes.
