BTS has already won three awards at this year’s 2021 Billboard Music Awards—even before the actual ceremony!
On May 23 local time, the 2021 Billboard Music Awards revealed the winners of most of this year’s awards in a non-televised pre-show. The remaining winners will be announced during tonight’s award ceremony at 8 p.m. ET, where BTS will perform their new single “Butter” for the very first time.
BTS emerged triumphant from the pre-show, winning all three of the non-televised awards for which they were nominated: Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, and Top Social Artist. The group’s 2020 smash hit “Dynamite” is also in the running for Top Selling Song, which will be announced during the main show tonight.
Even with one award still up in the air, BTS has already set a new personal record for the most awards they’ve ever received at a single Billboard Music Awards.
This year marks BTS’s first time winning Top Song Sales Artist, second time winning Top Duo/Group (their first was in 2019), and fifth consecutive year winning Top Social Artist.
Congratulations to BTS!
