Kim Young Dae Confirmed To Join WEi's Kim Yo Han In "School 2021"

Kim Young Dae will be joining WEi’s Kim Yo Han in KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “School 2021” with a leading role!

“School 2021” is part of KBS’s representative school genre series that starred famous actors including Jang Hyuk, Ha Ji Won, Lim Soo Jung, Gong Yoo, Jo In Sung, Kim Woo Bin, Lee Jong Suk, Nam Joo Hyuk, and more. The most recent installations of the series are “School 2017,” “Who Are You,” and “School 2013.”

Kim Yo Han is confirmed to play the male lead Gong Ki Joon (formerly named Do Bin), a hardworking student who takes on work and school at the same time and achieves his dream job after learning about love and friendship. Cho Yi Hyun is in talks to play the female lead opposite Kim Yo Han.

Kim Young Dae has been confirmed to star as Jung Young Joo, a transfer student with a hidden story and a past connection to Gong Ki Joon (Kim Yo Han). Regarding his casting, Kim Young Dae shared, “I’m grateful, and it’s wonderful that I got to star in the ‘School’ series. I’ll do my best so that all the viewers can enjoy watching the traditional ‘School’ series.” He added, “Young Joo from ‘School 2021’ has a backstory and a pitiable side, so my heart went out to him. I want to experience Young Joo’s anger, pain, and growth together.”

Kim Young Dae debuted through a special edition of the web drama “Secret Crushes” in 2017 and has quickly gained attention with roles in dramas including “Extraordinary You,” “I’ll Go to You When the Weather is Nice,” “The Penthouse,” and “Cheat On Me If You Can.” He received the Popularity Award at the 2020 KBS Drama Awards, and he’s currently gearing up to star in “The Penthouse 3,” which is slated to premiere on June 4.
