Jang Ki Yong And Hyeri's New Drama 'My Roommate Is A Gumiho' Premieres To No. 1 Ratings

tvN’s new drama “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” is off to a strong start!

Based on a popular webtoon, “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” is a new romantic comedy about a 22-year-old college student named Lee Dam (played by Girl’s Day’s Hyeri). Due to an unexpected mishap, she winds up moving in together with a 999-year-old male gumiho (a mythological nine-tailed fox) named Shin Woo Yeo (played by Jang Ki Yong), who is determined to become human.

According to Nielsen Korea, the May 26 premiere of “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” scored an average nationwide rating of 5.3 percent. Although the first episode fell short of the viewership ratings achieved by the finale of “Mouse,” the drama that previously occupied its time slot, it did manage to beat the 4.9 percent rating achieved by its predecessor’s premiere.

Additionally, “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” performed well with the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, among whom it scored an average nationwide rating of 3.0 percent. The drama also took first place in its time slot across all channels, including public broadcast networks.

Meanwhile, KBS 2TV’s “Sell Your Haunted House” scored average nationwide ratings of 3.9 percent and 5.9 percent for its two parts. The third episode of MBC’s “Here’s My Plan” earned average nationwide ratings of 2.0 percent for both of its parts, while JTBC’s “Law School” scored an average rating of 5.6 percent for the night.
