BTS Breaks Oricon's 2021 First-Week Sales Record In 1 Day + Tops Daily Album Chart With "BTS, THE BEST"
BTS’s new Japanese greatest hits album “BTS, THE BEST” has taken the No. 1 spot on Oricon’s latest daily album chart!
In just one day since its release on June 16, “BTS, THE BEST” sold 571,589 copies and rose to the top of Oricon’s daily album chart.
According to Oricon’s weekly album rankings, the highest first week sales achieved by any album so far this year was SixTONES’s “1ST” with 467,000 copies in January. “BTS, THE BEST” has already exceeded this figure on the first day of its release, and the number is set to rise higher as the week progresses. BTS also beat their personal first week sales record achieved by their Japanese album “MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 ∼THE JOURNEY” with 564,000 copies sold (on July 27, 2020).
“BTS, THE BEST” contains 23 tracks total including BTS’s Japanese tracks “Film Out,” “Your Eyes Tell,” and “Crystal Snow,” as well as Japanese versions of their Korean hits such as “Blood Sweat & Tears,” “FAKE LOVE,” “IDOL,” “MIC Drop,” and “ON.”
The group also topped Oricon’s weekly streaming chart with “Butter” for the fourth consecutive week.
