DSP Media Comments Regarding Hyunjoo's Brother Being Cleared Of Defamation Charges

DSP Media has released a statement regarding Hyunjoo’s younger brother being cleared of defamation charges.

On June 23, it was revealed that the police cleared Hyunjoo’s brother of defamation charges for stating that Hyunjoo had been bullied by her bandmates when she was part of APRIL. Media outlets reported that the decision was made as he had no intention to slander APRIL and that it was true that Hyunjoo had been bullied by the group.

In response, DSP Media’s legal representative released the following statement:

Some media outlets reported that the investigative agency decided to clear Lee Hyunjoo’s younger brother of charges after accepting that she was bullied by the members, but this is different from the truth.

To fully quote the exact reason for charges being cleared without distortion, “Charges were cleared as it is difficult to say that there was an intention of defamation and a recognition of false information.”

There was no confirmation of the members participating in bullying, and charges were cleared with the reason that the accused had no recognition of false information in the posts that he wrote.

We request for information that is different from the truth to not be circulated without confirming the facts.
