Watch: BLACKPINK's Rosé Covers John Mayer With Help From SHINee's Onew & AKMU's Lee Suhyun
BLACKPINK’s Rosé wowed with a moving cover of John Mayer’s “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” on JTBC’s “Sea of Hope”!
“Sea of Hope” is a new variety program in which celebrities perform music and prepare homemade dishes for guests at their own seaside bar. The star-studded cast includes Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, Lee Ji Ah, SHINee’s Onew, AKMU’s Lee Suhyun, and Yoon Jong Shin.
On the show’s June 29 premiere, Rosé made a special appearance as the program’s very first guest, serving as a “part-timer” who sang alongside the cast’s resident musicians.
After her arrival, Rosé politely spoke to Lee Suhyun using formal language, prompting her YG Entertainment labelmate to teasingly point out, “We agreed before to speak to each other informally.” Rosé replied with a shy laugh, “I have a hard time switching to informal speech [with someone new], but I’ll try.”
Later on in the episode, Rosé performed a live rendition of John Mayer’s “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” with Lee Suhyun, Onew, and Yoon Jong Shin providing backing vocals towards the end of the song.
