Watch: SHINee's Onew And AKMU's Lee Suhyun Cover Classic Song In Sweet Duet On "Sea Of Hope"
The seaside bar in JTBC’s new show “Sea of Hope” began operations for the first time!
“Sea of Hope” is a new variety show starring Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, Lee Ji Ah, SHINee’s Onew, AKMU’s Lee Suhyun, and Yoon Jong Shin as the employees of a seaside bar, preparing homemade dishes and performing music for guests, with other celebrities making special appearances as “part-timers.”
On the July 6 episode of the show, the cast rehearsed the songs they were planning to sing that night, tested out cocktail recipes, and did the prep work for the food that would be prepared. Kim Go Eun, whose hobby is scuba diving, is the “ocean manager” of the bar and went diving to clean up the garbage that had collected in the sea.
At one point, Yoon Jong Shin asked Kim Go Eun if she had gotten close to Lee Suhyun. Lee Suhyun shared, “I really wanted to become friends with Kim Go Eun, so I began speaking informally with her right away.” Kim Go Eun said, “I exchanged phone numbers with her on our first meeting and we texted before we came here.”
The cast got nervous when it was time to welcome the first guests and made some mistakes when it came to orders, but things settled down enough for Lee Suhyun and Onew to take the stage. Lee Suhyun teamed up with singer-songwriter zai.ro to cover Brave Girls’ “Rollin.'”
She and Onew also sang “Flying Through the Deep Night,” a classic song originally sung by Lee Moon Se. Lee Suhyun shared, “I’m going to try and sing it like a Disney princess. It has the feeling of Onew coming in like a prince.”
