BLACKPINK Announces Launch Of Weverse Fan Community
BLACKPINK will be joining Weverse soon!
On July 14, YG Entertainment revealed that the group would be joining the global fan community platform Weverse. BLACKPINK’s Weverse community will open on August 2, allowing the members to communicate with BLINK [BLACKPINK’s official fan club name] from all over the world more easily.
In particular, with their fifth debut anniversary approaching on August 8, fans are curious to find out what new special content or events will be revealed through Weverse. A source from YG Entertainment explained that this would be a part of BLACKPINK’s fifth anniversary project “4+1 Project.”
Following TREASURE and iKON, BLACKPINK is the third group from YG Entertainment to join Weverse. YG Entertainment had also previously announced their plans to strengthen their strategic partnership with HYBE (formerly Big Hit Entertainment) and Weverse Company.
BLACKPINK made their debut on August 2016, and they have since then released numerous hit songs such as “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love.” In October last year, the group made history when their first full-length album “THE ALBUM” debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart. BLACKPINK also became the first-ever Korean girl group to earn the title of “million seller” with the album. Along with having 29 videos with over hundreds of millions of views, the group has over 63 million subscribers on YouTube and over 22 million followers on Spotify.
