Im Soo Hyang And Sung Hoon In Talks To Reunite In Korean Remake Of "Jane The Virgin"
Im Soo Hyang and Sung Hoon may be reuniting for a new drama!
Industry representatives recently reported that the actors will be starring as the leads in a Korean remake of “Jane the Virgin.”
In response to the reports, both actors’ agencies commented that they have been offered roles and are reviewing the offers.
The upcoming drama will be a Korean remake of the American romantic comedy based on a Venezuelan telenovela. The drama is about a woman who is a virgin yet becomes pregnant with the child of a second generation chaebol due to her doctor’s mistake.
Im Soo Hyang has been offered the role of Bae Ji Eun, an assistant drama writer. She strictly maintains chastity before marriage following her grandmother’s teachings, and she is in a relationship with a kind man who is understanding of this.
Sung Hoon has received an offer to play Kim Bok Rae, a plastic surgeon who frequently gets involved with actresses until he gets diagnosed with cancer. He requests his wife for a divorce in order to achieve happiness.
Im Soo Hyang and Sung Hoon made their drama debut together in 2011 with leading roles in “New Tales of Gisaeng.” They also co-starred in “Five Enough” in 2016.
The Korean remake of “Jane the Virgin” will reportedly begin filming in September. It will be written and directed by Jung Jung Hwa, who has previously worked on dramas including “Flower Boy Ramyun Shop,” “Flower Boy Next Door,” “Bel Ami,” “The Wind Blows,” and more.
