BTS's 'Permission To Dance' Debuts On UK's Official Singles Chart As 'Butter' Stays Strong In Top 40

BTS’s “Permission to Dance” has joined “Butter” on the Official Singles Chart!

On July 16 local time, the United Kingdom’s Official Charts announced that BTS’s new song “Permission to Dance” had debuted at No. 16 on the Official Singles Chart for the week of July 16 to 22.

According to Official Charts, “Permission to Dance” was also the second most downloaded song of the week, bested only by Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits.”

Meanwhile, BTS’s previous single “Butter” ranked No. 34 in its eighth week on the Official Singles Chart, giving the group two simultaneous Top 40 hits on the chart.

“Permission to Dance” is BTS’s fifth song to land in the top 20 of the Official Singles Chart, following “Boy With Luv,” “Dynamite,” “Life Goes On,” and “Butter.”

The Official Singles Chart ranks the most popular songs in the United Kingdom, and the Official Charts are often regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts.

Congratulations to BTS!
