BTS's "Butter" Rises Back To No. 1; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2021, July Week 3
BTS’ “Butter” reclaimed the top spot this week! After spending two weeks as the No. 1 song last month, “Butter” spent the past few weeks at No. 2 and No. 3. With the recent release of a physical album, “Butter” picked up points for album sales to take No. 1 once again. Congratulations to BTS!
TWICE’s “Alcohol-Free” dropped one spot back down to No. 2. Rounding out the top three and holding on to the third spot is Brave Girls’ “Chi Mat Ba Ram.”
Two songs newly entered the top 10 this week. Moving up three spots to No. 8 is M.O.M’s “Foolish Love.” M.O.M is part of the “How Do You Play?” project group MSG Wannabe. “Foolish Love” is a medium tempo R&B ballad with a vibe reminiscent of music from the 2000s, and the lyrics express emotions of one-sided love.
Debuting at No. 9 is Taeyeon’s “Weekend,” a disco pop song with bright guitar and retro synth sounds. The lyrics express the wish to escape the dullness of everyday life and enjoy a carefree weekend.
