Song Hye Kyo Reported To Reunite With 'Descendants Of The Sun' Director For New Mystery Thriller

Song Hye Kyo may be reuniting with director Lee Eung Bok of “Descendants of the Sun“!

On July 22, Newsen reported that Song Hye Kyo had decided to star in director Lee Eung Bok’s upcoming drama. A broadcasting industry source stated to the news outlet, “It is to my knowledge that Song Hye Kyo made a verbal agreement to star in director Lee Eung Bok’s new drama,” adding that the upcoming drama is a mystery thriller that will reveal a new side of Song Hye Kyo.

Director Lee Eung Bok has led several hit dramas such as “Goblin,” “Mr. Sunshine,” and “Sweet Home.” In 2016, Song Hye Kyo starred in the director’s drama “Descendants of the Sun,” which was also a massive hit. Director Lee Eung Bok is currently working on the upcoming drama “Cliffhanger” starring Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon.

Song Hye Kyo is now filming for “Now, We Are Breaking Up” (literal translation), a drama set to air in the second half of 2021. After wrapping up filming for the drama, she will head straight into “The Glory,” an upcoming drama written by “Descendants of the Sun” and “Goblin” screenwriter Kim Eun Sook.
