Krystal Shares Why She Was Drawn To Her Refreshing Character In "Police University"
KBS’s upcoming drama “Police University” shared new stills and an interview with Krystal!
“Police University” is set in an elite police college where a passionate detective (Cha Tae Hyun) and a clever former hacker (Jinyoung) meet as professor and student and embark on an unpredictable investigation together.
Krystal stars in the drama as Oh Kang Hee, a new student at the police college who has a powerful sense of justice. She is a straightforward character who runs full-tilt to achieve her goal of becoming strong without even taking time to reflect on her inner pain. After she enrols in the police college, she undergoes personal growth through meeting, competing with, and befriending Kang Sun Ho (Jinyoung) and the other students.
Krystal said, “I thought the setting of a police university, which had never been done before, and the character of a new student there, were refreshing. It felt good to return to my youthful 20-year-old self. [Oh Kang Hee] is someone who is good at everything she does. She’s confident and straightforward. Although she appears tough on the outside, she can be quite fragile when it comes to someone she likes or the family she loves. I am acting while thinking about how to express to viewers those two contrasting sides of her.”
She added, “My job and dreams are different from Oh Kang Hee, but I think we share the sense of wanting to be more just.”
“Police University” premieres on August 9 at 9:30 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
