Park Ji Hoon Congratulates His Fan Yeo Seo Jeong On Her Historic Olympic Medal
Gymnastic medalist Yeo Seo Jeong received an additional surprise along with her successful win at the Olympics!
On August 1, Yeo Seo Jeong won the bronze medal in the women’s vault at the 2020 Summer Olympics with a total of 14.733 points for the final round, making her the first South Korean female gymnast to win a medal at the Olympics. Since her father Yeo Hong Chul won silver in the men’s vault at the 1996 Summer Olympics, they are the first Korean father-daughter duo to have both won medals.
Following her win, Park Ji Hoon stated in a live broadcast, “Athlete Yeo Seo Jeong has won a bronze medal today. A lot of people have told me, and I really want to congratulate you. I’m really proud of you. Honestly, I’m rooting for all the athletes who have gone to the Olympics. As a fan, I feel like it’s very cool. Congratulations!”
Yeo Seo Jeong, who has revealed that she is a fan of Park Ji Hoon, posted a clip of his congratulatory message on her Instagram story along with the caption, “I’m crying…”
After she posted the clip, Olympic athlete Hwang Sun Woo sent her a message commenting, “Successful fan…” She replied, “You’re also a successful fan.. Hwang Sun Woo messaged, “I know that feeling very well..haha. Your hands shake…” Yeo Seo Jeong messaged back, “I get what kind of feeling it is… It feels so good.” Hwang Sun Woo commented, “I know. I’m trying again at the Asian Games next year,” prompting Yeo Seo Jeong to reply with lots of laughter symbols and say, “Let’s go.”
