KCON:TACT HI 5 To Be Held In September

Mark your calendars: the online version of KCON is returning for a fifth round next month!

KCON is a major convention and music festival that celebrates Korean pop culture and entertainment, and it includes concerts featuring performances by popular K-pop artists. The convention has been held in countries such as the United States, France, Australia, Mexico, Japan, Thailand, and more.

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began, KCON has taken its conventions online. On August 11, KCON officially announced that its fifth KCON:TACT, entitled “KCON:TACT HI 5,” will take place over nine days from September 18 to 26.

KCON:TACT HI 5 is named after the phrase/gesture “high five” in order to convey the joy of the fifth round of KCON and the hope that this will be a time for K-pop fans all over the world to connect and communicate regardless of time and place.

KCON:TACT HI 5 is planning to expand its exclusive content offline and evolve into an O4O (Online for Offline) platform. The event will include an AR (Augmented Reality) opening, KCON Arena, music rooms that make artists’ music richer, and more. Furthermore, there will be strengthened communication with the fans, including “personal talk” and a “live chat.”

A source from KCON:TACT shared, “We will make an effort so that K-pop artists and fans from all over the world will be able to overcome physical distance and communicate with each other. We ask for your interest and love.”

KCON:TACT HI 5 will be exclusively released through TVing in Korea, and overseas fans can view the event through KCON’s and Mnet K-pop’s YouTube channels.
