BTS Nominated For 5 Awards At 2021 MTV VMAs; BLACKPINK, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, (G)I-DLE, And MONSTA X Snag Nods For Best K-Pop
The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards has announced this year’s nominees!
On August 11 local time, MTV officially revealed most of its nominations for the upcoming award ceremony. Nominations for social categories, including Best Group and Song of the Summer, will be announced at a later date.
This year’s nominees for Best K-Pop are (G)I-DLE’s “DUMDi DUMDi,” BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream,” BTS’s “Butter,” MONSTA X’s “Gambler,” SEVENTEEN’s “Ready to Love,” and TWICE’s “Alcohol-Free.”
Meanwhile, BTS has already been nominated in five different categories, making them the group with the most nominations for this year’s VMAs. In addition to Best K-Pop, BTS is also in the running for Song of the Year (“Dynamite“), Best Pop (“Butter”), Best Choreography (“Butter”), and Best Editing (“Butter”).
Last year, BTS won Best Group, Best Pop, Best Choreography, and Best K-Pop at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards.
The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from New York’s Barclays Center on September 12 at 8 p.m. ET. In the meantime, you can vote for the awards on MTV’s website here!
