Lee Sang Yi Becomes A Passionate Variety Show PD For New Drama 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha'

The first stills of Lee Sang Yi have been revealed for “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”!

A remake of the film “Mr. Hong,” tvN’s “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” is a romance drama starring Shin Min Ah as Yoon Hye Jin, a dentist who moves from Seoul to the seaside village of Gongjin, and Kim Seon Ho as Hong Doo Shik, an odd-job expert who helps everyone around town.

Lee Sang Yi takes on the role of Ji Sung Hyun, a star variety show PD (producing director) known for creating warm content that features people’s everyday lives. Although a workaholic, he has an easygoing and gentle personality. When he chooses Gongjin as the setting for his new program, he gets unexpectedly entangled in situations with Hye Jin, Doo Shik, and people of the village.

In his first stills, Ji Sung Hyun is shown wearing a light blue button-up shirt and clean-cut pants, giving a glimpse of dandy style. He is extremely focused on his camera, seemingly unaware that he is close to falling in the water.

Another image shows Ji Sung Hyun looking at someone with a sweet smile, previewing the character’s warm energy.

Lee Sang Yi commented, “More than anything, [Ji Sung Hyun] is a character with passion. He is passionate about work, passionate about love, and passionate about people. I found Sung Hyun’s passion and genuineness to be his greatest charms.”

He continued, “His passion for work and love for food are similar to me. Especially food. I really love eating. I want to continuously eat good food!”

“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” is set to premiere on August 28 at 9 p.m. KST.
