Kim Go Eun And Ahn Bo Hyun Have An Awkward First Encounter In "Yumi's Cells"
Upcoming drama “Yumi’s Cells” has shared a glimpse of Kim Go Eun’s and Ahn Bo Hyun’s characters meeting for the first time!
“Yumi’s Cells” is a drama based on a hit webtoon about an ordinary office worker named Yumi, told from the perspective of the brain cells in her head controlling her thoughts, feelings, and actions. Kim Go Eun stars as Yumi, Ahn Bo Hyun as Goo Woong, Lee Yoo Bi as Ruby, Park Ji Hyun as Sae Yi, and GOT7‘s Jinyoung as Yoo Babi. SHINee’s Minho will be making a special appearance as Woo Gi.
In the newly revealed stills, Yumi and Goo Woong are surprised to see each other. Goo Woong almost looks like a robot with his stiff facial expression, but what stands out even more is his questionable fashion sense. From the moment they first meet, he steals Yumi’s attention with his bright red shorts. It remains to be seen how their relationship will develop from this moment on.
Kim Go Eun’s character Yumi is an ordinary office worker who is caught in repetitive and boring life. Though she does her best to make it through every day diligently, she can’t help but feel like something is missing. One day, she finds someone who makes her heart race and causes her cells to react. Kim Go Eun’s portrayal of Yumi’s relatable everyday life will add on to the list of memorable roles played by Kim Go Eun.
Playing Goo Woong, Ahn Bo Hyun is in perfect sync with his character in every way. Goo Woong is a game developer whose brain is based on a “yes or no” algorithm. He has zero talent when it comes to appealing to the emotions or sprucing himself up, but his honest way of expressing himself makes him more attractive the more you see him. Curiosity is growing over how Goo Woong will get further involved with Yumi.
The producers of “Yumi’s Cells” shared, “Kim Go Eun and Ahn Bo Hyun are leading the drama and bringing out the best in their characters. Viewers will find the changes and emotional flow of Yumi and Goo Woong’s relationship to be relatable. You can also look forward to their unexpected first meeting and the special incidents that take place in the town of cells inside their minds.”
“Yumi’s Cells” is a multi-season drama directed by Lee Sang Yeob, the director of “Familiar Wife” and “Shopping King Louie,” and co-written by “Find Me in Your Memory” writer Kim Yoon Joo and newcomer Kim Kyung Ran. “W” and “Memories of the Alhambra” writer Song Jae Jung has participated as a creator. “Yumi’s Cells” is the first Korean drama to combine live action and 3D animation to create a new format of content.
“Yumi’s Cells” premieres on September 17 at 10:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki with English subtitles.
