BoA's Brother Kwon Soon Wook Passes Away After Battle With Cancer

Director Kwon Soon Wook, who is BoA’s older brother, has passed away.

BoA’s eldest brother Kwon Soon Hwon revealed on Instagram that their brother Kwon Soon Wook had passed away on September 5 at 12:17 a.m. at the age of 39.

In May, director Kwon Soon Wook shared through Instagram that he had developed Stage 4 peritoneal cancer and did not have much time left. On his post, BoA had left a loving comment in support.

Kwon Soon Wook has directed music videos like BoA’s “Game” and “Only One,” as well as Girl’s Day’s “Twinkle,” MAMAMOO’s “Piano Man,” Red Velvet’s “Be Natural,” and more. He has also directed the web dramas “Bong Soon – A Cyborg in Love” and “The Reward of Waiting For Love” (literal translation).
