LABOUM Signs With New Agency; To Make Comeback As 4-Member Group Following Yujeong's Departure
LABOUM has joined a new agency and is gearing up to return as a four-member group!
Following the expiration of their contracts with their former agency, LABOUM’s leader Yujeong announced on September 8 that she had decided to leave the group after seven years.
Later that day, Interpark Music Plus officially announced that the remaining four members of LABOUM—Soyeon, ZN, Haein, and Solbin—had joined its agency as their very first girl group.
The agency also confirmed that LABOUM is currently preparing to make a comeback as a four-member group in the near future, stating that the idols are “picking up the pace” of their album preparations with the goal of a speedy return.
Interpark Music Plus is a new agency that was established in May by Korean e-commerce and online ticketing giant Interpark with the goal of producing idol groups.
After debuting in 2014, LABOUM recently reentered the spotlight when their 2016 song “Journey to Atlantis” enjoyed a sudden resurgence in popularity. As “Journey to Atlantis” began climbing back up the charts, “How Do You Play?” project group MSG Wannabe covered the song on the show, which then catapulted the track all the way up to the top of Korea’s realtime music charts.
Aside from their group comeback preparations, Solbin is currently gearing up to star in the new JTBC drama “IDOL: The Coup” (literal title), while ZN will be appearing in SBS’s upcoming drama “I’ll Become Your Night” (literal translation).
Are you excited to see LABOUM make a comeback as a four-member group?
