Watch: "Girls Planet 999" Contestants Cover BTOB, BLACKPINK, And More In 2nd Mission

On the September 10 episode of Mnet’s “Girls Planet 999,” the 54 remaining contestants embarked on their second mission, the Combination Mission.

Last episode, 45 contestants were eliminated in the show’s first elimination round. This episode, the Combination Mission broke apart the “cells” that the contestants had been placed in at the start and were put into new teams. The smallest teams would have three members and the largest teams would have nine members.

The Combination Mission songs were divided into songs for the vocal position, for the rap position, and for the dance position. The vocal position songs were 2PM’s “My House,” ITZY’s “In the morning,” Taeyeon’s “All About You,” and IU’s “My Sea.” The vocal and rap position song was BTOB’s “Missing You.” The rap position songs were “VVS” from “Show Me the Money 9” and “We Are” by Woo Won Jae featuring Loco and GRAY. The dance position songs were Meghan Trainor’s “No Excuses,” Lee Sun Hee’s “Fate,” BLACKPINK’s “Ice Cream” (featuring Selena Gomez), and Little Mix’s “Salute.”

After revealing the mission songs, host Yeo Jin Goo added that the next mission would be a Creation Mission, where contestants would directly participate in rap making, choreography, or song arranging.
