tvN’s upcoming historical drama has unveiled its first teaser!

“Secret Royal Inspector Joy” is a historical comedy investigation drama about a young gourmet who ends up becoming a secret royal inspector (an undercover government official who investigates the provinces for corruption) and teams up with a divorced woman who is searching for happiness.

2PM’s Taecyeon stars as Ra Yi Eon, who wants nothing more than to open a small dumpling store outside the capital, where land is cheap. However, his sharp mind gets him through the state examination and even secures him a coveted spot in the Office of Special Advisors. Against his will, he is even appointed as a secret royal inspector, a career path that others would kill for, but he is mostly concerned with getting off work as fast as possible and taking time off for lunch.

Kim Hye Yoon stars as Kim Jo Yi, an unconventional Joseon-era woman who thinks that getting divorced isn’t a big deal. Three years ago, she married a gambling addict and mama’s boy, and after a rocky marriage, divorced the man. As she is about to start a new phase of her life, she runs into an obstacle in the form of a secret royal inspector.

The new teaser doesn’t reveal much about the plot, but it shows the two lead actors dressed in hanbok (traditional clothing) slowly turning to face each other as a crowd with torches storms past them.
