BTS's "Butter" Certified Double Platinum In The United States

BTS’s “Butter” is double platinum in the United States!

On September 23, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced three new certifications for BTS’s hit summer single “Butter”: gold, platinum, and double platinum.

This is the second time that BTS has achieved a “double platinum” certification in the United States, after “Dynamite” first did so in March.

According to the RIAA’s certification criteria, a song is certified gold after it moves 500,000 equivalent units, platinum at 1 million equivalent units, and double platinum at 2 million units.

In the past few months, BTS had “Butter” become the fastest song in RIAJ history to go platinum in Japan and “Dynamite” become their first single to go platinum in the United Kingdom, cementing their status in some of the biggest music markets around the world.
