LOONA's Chuu And HyunJin Talk About Their Athleticism, Group's Growth, And More
LOONA’s Chuu and HyunJin look bright and energetic for the October issue of Elle magazine!
Elle worked together with Chuu and HyunJin to spread news about the first Elle Run, a virtual race that will take place over the course of two days from October 9 to 10. The two LOONA members, who are known for their outstanding athletic abilities, were overflowing with energy all throughout the photo shoot.
During the interview, Chuu shared, “I’m built smaller than other people my age, so my mother put me on Taekwondo lessons since I was young. I ran quite well too. I was always a member of the relay race.”
HyunJin commented, “I have good innate athletic abilities. I joined a shot put contest when I was in elementary school, and I participated in various club activities including the table tennis club, basketball club, soccer club, and the badminton club.”
Having participated in the Mnet variety show “Running Girls,” Chuu shared, “While running together with the unnies, I felt that running is connected to livelihood, everyday life, and the sense of self. It was also meaningful to run in a foreign place I wasn’t familiar with.” When asked if there is a sport she wants to try in the future, HyunJin replied, “I was watching the Tokyo Olympics, and sports climbing seemed really fun. My arms are long, and my hands are big, so I think I could do a good job.”
The two idols also talked about when they feel as if LOONA is doing well. HyunJin answered, “It would have to be when we first placed No. 1. It’s still fascinating whenever I coincidentally find ourselves on TV.” Chuu shared, “These days, the number of people who recognize LOONA has grown. These changes feel rewarding.”
