Jo Jung Suk, Lee Sun Gyun, And Yoo Jae Myung Confirmed As Leads Of Upcoming Movie + Begin Filming

Jo Jung Suk, Lee Sun Gyun, and Yoo Jae Myung began filming their new movie on October 1!

Upcoming film “The Land of Happiness” (working title) is about a person who gets swept up in a case that shakes up modern history and a lawyer who goes all out to save him. Top actors Jo Jung Suk, Lee Sun Gyun, and Yoo Jae Myung have been confirmed as cast members, and the film will be helmed by director Chu Chang Min of “Masquerade” and “Seven Years of Night.”

Jo Jung Suk, who became known for his impressive ability to immerse into his characters through the film “E.X.I.T” and the “Hospital Playlist” series, will be playing a lawyer who only believes in winning and losing in the court rather than justice.

Lee Sun Gyun, who starred in hit projects such as “My Ahjussi,” “A Hard Day,” and “Parasite,” will make a new type of transformation as he plays the role of an upright soldier who’s at the center of the case that shakes up Korea’s modern history.

Having garnered attention for his roles in “Stranger,” “Itaewon Class,” and “Voice of Silence,” Yoo Jae Myung will also play another key character in the film and add suspense to the story.

From the first filming, Jo Jung Suk shared, “I was deeply immersed while reading the script, and I have a lot of anticipation for trying out a new genre. I’m happy to work together with great actors, director, and staff, and I’ll work hard to film and greet viewers with a good movie.” Lee Sun Gyun remarked, “It’s meaningful to meet such an excellent director and actors as well as cool characters. I’ll do my best to show viewers a good film.” Finally, Yoo Jae Myung commented, “I’m excited and happy to be able to work together with the director and actors I’ve wanted to work with. I’ll do my best to create a nice film. I hope our production becomes a small seed through which everyone goes to the land of happiness together.”

Director Chu Chang Min stated, “It’s a story that I’ve held in my heart for a long time. I’m excited and looking forward to it because it’s a project with actors I’ve really wanted to work with. I’ll work on this project sincerely along with the staff.”

“The Land of Happiness” is slated to premiere in 2022.
