Watch: 'Yumi's Cells' Shares Behind-The-Scenes Look At GOT7's Jinyoung And Lee Sang Yi's Appearances

TVING has shared a behind-the-scenes look at filming for episodes 7-8, which included the first appearance of GOT7’s Jinyoung and a cameo from Lee Sang Yi!

Spoilers

In one scene, Jinyoung, wearing a mask and sunglasses, hangs out in the background to watch the filming of a scene with Kim Go Eun, Ahn Bo Hyun, and Park Ji Hyun.

While filming Lee Sang Yi’s cameo, Kim Go Eun and Lee Sang Yi have trouble putting aside their long-time friendship to properly immerse themselves in the scene. Lee Sang Yi and Kim Go Eun were in the same class at Korea National University of Arts, along with Ahn Eun Jin, Kim Sung Cheol, Lee Yoo Young, and Park So Dam.

During Lee Sang Yi’s lines, Kim Go Eun has trouble holding back laughter and holding his gaze, and when he tries to put a hand on her shoulder, she automatically brushes it off. As Lee Sang Yi gets into character as Woogi, a staff member gets way too absorbed in the scene and comments, “Why did [Yumi] date a guy like this for seven years?”, referring to the fact that Woogi is the ex-boyfriend of Kim Go Eun’s character, Yumi, in the drama. Kim Go Eun replies, “Yumi has terrible taste in men.”

Lee Sang Yi gets confused a moment later at the director’s instructions, and Kim Go Eun rises to her friend’s defence, saying, “Don’t kill his vibe!” Lee Sang Yi says, “No, I wasn’t like that,” but Kim Go Eun insists that he was, and he retorts, “You’re the one killing my vibe right now.”

In an interview, Lee Sang Yi said, “I was contacted by Go Eun one day to ask if I’d play her ex-boyfriend and I agreed without much discussion. It’s always fun to work with her, so I hope that was contained well in the scenes. It was my first time meeting Ahn Bo Hyun and it was fun. Go Eun, be careful with your health for the rest of filming and stay strong!”

Next, Jinyoung introduces himself properly as Yoo Babi, a potential new love interest for Yumi. Kim Go Eun and Jinyoung film a scene at night together, but when the camera is focused on Kim Go Eun and Jinyoung is standing out of frame, she warns him, “Don’t laugh!” because then she’ll start laughing too. The tables are turned later when Jinyoung has to change his look significantly for a different scene and Kim Go Eun can’t stop getting in the way of his lines with her laughter.

In the interview, Jinyoung said, “The director and production staff made it so comfortable for me that I adjusted to set well. Kim Go Eun is also such a great senior actor that I had no space to feel awkward.” In one scene, he asks Kim Go Eun when she felt the most fluttered in their scene, and she replies, “My heart really did flutter!”, flustering him with her response.

Jinyoung continues to make drastic transformations for his character, and says in amusement, “Everyone is laughing, and I think it’s because of me.” Kim Go Eun says positively, “It’s because of you,” and takes a selfie with his new look. Similarly, Park Ji Hyun “transforms” into a man for one scene, and is worried about her wig, commenting, “I’ve never even had shoulder-length hair before.” Ahn Bo Hyun wittily replies, “Me, too!”, referring to his character’s long hair.
